ISLAMABAD: The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) on Thursday approved Rs 3.94 per unit reduction in power tariff for April under monthly fuel adjustment formula.
The regulator approved the tariff reduction on a petition filed by the Central Power Purchase Agency (CPPA). The hearing was presided over by NEPRA’s Vice Chairman Himayat Ullah Khan here.
The relief would be given in the billing of June. The average cost of per unit remained at Rs 4.21 against the reference price of Rs 7.62 per unit in April.
The CPPA on behalf of power distribution sought reduction in power tariff owing to reduce fuel prices.
