Talib’s journey to Tokyo Olympics was made possible after the International Olympic Committee accepted a request from the Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) and offered the young lifter an invitation place in the 67kgs category. Born on 03 October 1999 in Gujranwala, Talib is a national champion and national record holder since 2017. Talib won bronze at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Australia in 2018 and 67kgs gold at the 13th SAF Games in Nepal in 2019. He won silver in seniors’ 62kgs event of the Commonwealth Weightlifting Championship in 2017 in Gold Coast, Australia. In 2020, Talib won three golds in the 67kgs competition of the 6th International Solidarity Weightlifting Championship in Tashkent. He also won silver at the Islamic Solidarity Weightlifting Championship 2018 in Egypt, silver at the Commonwealth Youth Games in 2017, silver at the Asian Youth Championship in 2016 and silver at the Commonwealth Youth Games in 2015.
