Ex Chief Minister Punjab Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday blamed FIA investigation team over alleged harassment. Ex CM Punjab further stated that the FIA team used explicit language during investigation and that he couldn’t bear the latter’s behaviour.

“I stood up from my seat and questioned their behaviour”, he added saying that the investigation officers made fun and laughed at him. In this regard, he further stated that he had beared humongous losses worth billions of rupees in his family business related to sugar mills.

“I took care of the widows and served the people of Punjab” he added. He also stated that the then on-going load-shedding period exceeded 20 hours a day before he took charge of the government.

Agricultural industry and factories had their business on a steep decline and that he installed low-cost electricity production units on special collaboration proposals with the Chinese, he added.

“Same cases filed against me, have been handed over to FIA from NAB” he stated. “I have been accused of alleged above the law financial commission in the government-led projects but I have answered all the questions asked by FIA investigation officers in this regard” he said.

FIA Spokesperson on the other hand, has rejected the allegations made by Shehbaz Sharif and stated that the latter has not been harassed. According to a statement released by FIA spokesperson, Shehbaz Sharif has responded to the statement earlier recorded in the court.

The spokesperson further stated that Shehbaz Sharif avoids to answer the questions in a focused manner. When asked about those hefty amounts worth billions of rupees deposited in his account, he responds with a diverted yet vague answer of him being solely responsible for bringing Orange line Train and Metro Bus projects, the spokesperson added.

The spokesperson further explained that the President of PML-N brags about serving the people of Punjab when asked about his assets beyond means including cars and property.

In addition, he stated that Shehbaz diverts relevant questions to his children when asked about the hefty amounts deposited to his accounts by his employees. ‘My lawyers will answer the questions regarding the remittances being deposited from abroad or the amounts sent from Pakistan to international bank accounts” Shehbaz said.

The spokerperson further revealed that Shehbaz does not directly answer the asked questions and asks not to make public the asked questions.

Shehbaz Sharif was welcomed with immense respect upon his arrival to the FIA office and was offered tea as well. The spokesperson approved zero possibility of mishandling Shehbaz Sharif’s interrogation procedure and that he did not answer a single question as they were supposed to be answered.

Pre-bail arrest extended for Hamza, Shehbaz Sharif

A session court in Lahore on Saturday has extended the pre-arrest bail of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) leaders Shehbaz Sharif and Hamza Shehbaz in the sugar scandal case until August 2, 2021.

During the proceedings, the investigation officer (IO) stated that the department has issued notices to both the suspects and will put before the record of the investigation process after its completion. The lawyer representing Shehbaz Sharif was looking forward to adjourn the proceedings citing holidays in the Punjab courts.

The court ordered against the arrest of Hamza Shehbaz and Shehbaz Sharif before July 10 and directed them to submit two surety bonds with each amounting to Rs1 million.

The development came after PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif and Opposition Leader in Punjab Assembly Hamza Shehbaz decided to appear before the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).
