Corruption worth millions of rupees revealed in WWF

ISLAMABAD: Corruption worth millions of rupees on the misuse of TADA and petrol has been revealed in the subsidiary department of the Ministry of Human Resources Workers Welfares Fund (WWF).

According to documents received by Daily Times, the Secretary, Ministry of Human Resources Khazar Hayat, had decided in the meeting of the governing body that only deputation allowance would be given to the officials of other departments and no other allowance would be given to them as the departmental law does not permit it.

Despite the decision of the governing body, Director General Abdul Hameed Jamani and DG Admin Tahir Kaleem had obtained the bills of past years which were illegal and even submitted the record of all these illegal incentives in the court.

According to sources of Daily Times, it has been learnt about Director Technical Islam Sheikh, Director Admin Tahir Kaleem Siddiqi, Syed Amjad Bukhari, Syed Noman Shah, Director Works Afzal Javed and DG Education Abdul Hameed Jamani that they made fake visits in the country which TADA amounts to millions of rupees. Their audit has not been conducted.

A petition has been dispatched to the ministry, the NAB and the High Court in which it is prayed that a special audit should be conducted from the years 2011 to 2016 so that corruption worth millions of rupees could be highlighted under the head of TADA.

It has also been revealed in the documents received by Daily Times that various employees are ghosts in the headquarters of the WWF, whose monthly salaries are being released regularly and top officials have been informed in this regard but they did not pay any heed towards the matter.

Various government employees are working as personal servants in the houses of former ministers and top officials and getting their salaries from the national exchequer. Muhammad Ilyas, Muhammad Afzal, Muhammad Ramzan, Shekila Bibi, Safia Bibi are working in the houses of various officials.

Sources said that even petrol worth millions of rupees is being consumed. The secretary can officially get the vehicle 1300 CC as per rules and regulation but he is utilising vehicles of 4500 CC and 3300 CC respectively including various other vehicles and is getting hundreds of litres of petrol for these vehicles on a daily basis.

For the verification of the news, Daily Times contacted the Admin Officer Wasim Afzal, who said that he was not in Islamabad as he had been transferred to Peshawar adding that he initiated various measures to curb the corruption but the corrupt mafia had succeeded.

However, he verifying the news, said that a case regarding TADA was subjudice and it is hoped that the court would order on the recovery of this amount.

When Daily Times contacted the DG Education Abdul Hameed Jamani to know his stance in this regard, he responded that he was out of the city and could not comment on it.
