ISLAMABAD: The federal government has made a plan to establish a Nursing and Associated Medical Science University in Islamabad with the collaboration of the Bahrain government. The university will be established at Mouza Chatta Bakhtawar, Park Road, Zone-4 Phase 2 comprising 237 canals near COMSATS Islamabad. For this purpose, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) has allotted a piece of land at the above mentioned site for the establishment of King Hamad University of Nursing and Associated Medical Science. The university will cover 2000 students with 500 annual admissions. Residential facilities will be provided to 1000 female students. Furthermore the Government of Bahrain will construct the building and will be responsible for maintaining the building for one year after completion. State Minister for National Health Services and Regulation Saira Afzal Tararr while talking to Daily Times said that the government was going to establish a state of the art nursing university in Islamabad will the help of the Bahrain government. “The government is establishing this university to fulfil Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s vision to make Islamabad a model city regarding health”. He further said that the international level nursing course would be taught in this university so that the people could provide the good facilities in hospitals. This university is sure to increase the knowledge and capacities of nursing in Pakistan as well. A delegation of the Bahrain government will visit Pakistan with the Pakistani Ambassador in Bahrain on July 13 2016 of signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to establish this university. she further added.
