Author: Amir Abbas Minhas

Chakwal: Irfan Yousaf, the Assistant Director (Planning) in the Directorate General of Industries, Prices, Weights & Measures, Punjab, confirmed that the case registered against him was totally baseless and filed with malafied intentions by the local weights & measures contractor back in 2020.

He stated that they actually wanted him to issue a repair license and when he refused, they started pressurizing him, but he constantly denied doing that unlawful act. After that, they made a trap against him and filed a case on the charge of accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000 from a citizen, Tanveer Moughal.

The Anti-corruption Department remanded Irfan Yousuf and started an investigation.

Irfan Yousaf said that after one year of court trials and legal proceedings, he has been exonerated from all charges by the court on 17.09.2021.

He has been serving in different districts as District Officer and Magistrate 1st Class (Price Control) but not a single complaint has been received at any forum by anyone in his 12 years of service tenure.
