Helpless Karachiites

Author: Daily Times

Sir: Police duty is the protection of citizens but presently, in Karachi, police officials are fleecing the commonman by asking money from street wanders and small traders.

After Corona pandemic, everyone is struggling against hunger, but even these days, police officials are forcing people for bribes ie Rs 5,000 a week is being taken from a person who sells potato chips and those who do not pay are intimidated to move in the streets. The guardians of the law themselves are bent upon spoiling society. I urge IG Sindh and senior officers to end the bribery system and give priority to the laws of the Islamic State.
