First case of COVID-19 confirmed in Dadu, family quarantined

All family members of coronavirus affected woman Shabana Vighio were quarantined at home as the first COVID-19 case was confirmed in Dadu district on Monday.

Shabana Vighio a coronavirus affected woman was shifted to LUMHS-Hospital Hyderabad by the rapid response team of health department Dadu through ambulance from her home at village Mohammad Khan Vighio of union council Nau Goth of Dadu district.

Two family members Shabana Vighio were also confirmed COVID-19 at Quetta hospital after returning from Iran via Taftan border some few days back, but escaped from hospital of Quetta and reached at her home in Dadu district.

As soon as, 30 years old Shabana Vighio wife of Abdul Hameed Vighio resident of village Mohammad Khan Vighio of union council Nau Goth of taluka Mehar on Monday was confirmed positive results in Corona Virus-COVID-19 from her samples/ tests by Agha Khan Karachi on Monday.

Under the supervision of DHO-Dr Zahid Hussain Dawachh, team of Rapid Response of Health Department, included Dr Fahim Soomro, head of rapid response team of taluka Mehar, Additional District Health Officer Dadu, Dr Shahid Shaikh and Dr Abdul Hameed Shaikh AMS-Additional Medical Superintendent of taluka hospital Mehar arrived at home of Shabana Vighio at village Mohammad Khan Vighio some 80 kilometers away from Dadu city on Monday. They, shifted a woman in an Isolation ward of LUMHS-Liaquat University of Medical Health Sciences Hospital Hyderabad by the rapid response team of health department district Dadu through ambulance.

District Health Officer, Dr Zahid Hussain Dawachh said that woman Shabana Vighio was facing symptoms of Corona Virus and She was ill since 12,3,2020 as she returned home from Iran after pilgrimage. He said that samples for test of Shabana Vighio were conducted on 19/3.2020 and sent to Agha Khan Hospital laboratory for confirmation. He said that as soon as, her test confirmed positive of corona virus, a rapid response team under his supervision, she was shifted to LUMHS Hospital Hyderabad through an ambulance. He said that 11 other family members of Shabana Vighio were quarantine at home and their tests would be conducted. He said that Shabana Vighio was also looking after two affected families members at Quetta hospital after returning from Iran Via Taftan border. He said that as soon as, she returned home at Dadu, her test was conducted.

DC Dadu, Raja Shahzaman Khuhro said that arrangements were taken to conduct tests of all 11 family members of Shabana Vighio from Agha Khan Hospital Karachi. Speaking with reporter, DC Dadu said that he had directed to DHO Dadu to conduct the tests of quarantined 11 family members of Shabana Vighio COVID confirmed case as soon as possible. However, a large contingent of police was also deployed at house of COVID-19 confirmed case, Shabana Vighio at village Mohammad Khan Vighio in taluka Mehar of Dadu district. According to SSP Dadu, Dr Farrukh Raza Malik, police staff related with Nau Goth police station was deployed at outside of quarantined 11 family members of Shabana Vighio at village Mohammad Khan Vighio in taluka Mehar.

It remembered that two cases of COVID-19, Ali Raza and baby Ghulam Fiza Vighio were confirmed at Quetta hospital, belong to Dadu district. Boy arrived at Quetta from Iran along with parents Via Taftan border few days back.

CRACKDOWN:

While, Dadu district police launched a crackdown against the people and shopkeepers for violating the law. The people were roaming in town and shopkeepers opened the shops in Dadu town. A large number of district police under the SSP Dadu Dr Farrukh Raza Malik launched a crackdown, arrested at least 40 people and shopkeepers for violating the law, they all were sent in police lock ups. While, police also launched a crackdown against people and shopkeepers in Sehwan Manjhand, Kotri and Jamshoro towns and arrested at 30 people and shopkeepers for violating the law after announcement of Sindh government for lock down of the province.
