PSL5 opening ceremony to cost Rs.200 million

KARACHI: The opening ceremony of the fifth edition of the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) will be incurring a cost of around Rs.200 million. Quetta Gladiators and Islamabad United, who will play the first match of the tournament, are the only teams guaranteed to be at the event. However, Peshawar Zalmi officials have stated that their team will also be present at the National Stadium in Karachi for the opening event. According to Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) officials, the teams that are scheduled to compete the following day will not be able to take part in the opening festivities. The colorful and extravagant HBL PSL 5 opening ceremony is scheduled to be held at the National Stadium in Karachi on Thursday (today). A new company is set to organise the opening ceremony. Rehearsals for the event have been going on for a few days at the National Stadium in Karachi. The sound system is checked every day. Islamabad United and Quetta Gladiators are set to compete in the first day of the tournament. The other teams will, most likely, be represented by their respective owners in the opening ceremony.
