PESHAWAR: Awami National Party (ANP) has termed the distribution of shares of multi-billion of dollar China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) by the Federal Government to the federating units, unfair and unequal.

Talking to Daily Times, ANP Senator Bushra Gohar criticized the Federal Government of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) for sidelining Khyber Pakhtukhwa (KP) and Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) in development projects under the CPEC in the region.

She said that the federal government also held back from its promises to summon All Party Conference (APC) over the CPEC and faire distribution. She demanded from the government that Western rout to be constructed on priority bases and avert agitation in KP and FATA.

“Systematically the leaders and workers of the ANP would launch protest, rallies and press briefing against the federal government policy over the CPEC. However, proper mechanism for a unified agitation would be announced officially by the ANP,” Bushra Gohar added.

The Senator claimed that from October 4 ANP will made public the prose and cones of the federal government usurper attitude and its oblivious policy towards Western route.

She said that sense of deprivation among the people of small provinces and FATA touching alarming heights but central government was busy inaugurating mega projects in Punjab.

Pashtuns leaders have come to the conclusion after long struggle for due share in CPEC, she said that CPEC is for Punjab, by Punjab and of Punjab.

ANP Senator, also slammed Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) provincial government as puppet of the Bani-Gala and Punjab centered, adding that the province suffered unparallel lose in CPEC share but its party leaders staging Dharnas for holding grief over Takht-e-Lahore.

She said PTI provincial government was not extending its help being ruling party in the province to those parties, people and groups who raise their voices for the right of the region. Technically, KP was reverted to one unit and the consequences of such measurements of the federal government could be harmful for the country peace and stability, she added.

It is pertinent to mention here that political parties of the KP have reservations over the distribution of shares of EPEC.

Members of civil society and Awami National Party Wali (ANP-W) had blocked the Sher Shah Suri Road outside the Peshawar Press Club yesterday against the unlawful changes to CPEC original route.

The protestors had hold banners and rallied toward provincial assembly to record its protest and create awareness among the masses against unfair distribution of CPEC investment.
