SRSO organises craft exhibition

SUKKUR: Sindh Rural Support Organisation (SRSO) organised a 3-day exhibition at its head office located near the new bus terminal. The Sartyoon Sang Crafts Exhibition continued for last three days from June 19, 20 and 21, 2017 said a press release here on Thursday. The exhibition brought a variety of colourful and captivating traditional arts and crafts which were the work of hundreds of rural women from different remote villages of Kashmore-Kandhkot, Shikarpur, Ghotki, Jacobabad, Khairpur, Sukkur and other districts of the northern Sindh. A wide mixture of Sindh’s handicrafts, including home textiles (made up of the intricate patchwork, cut work and embroidery), basketry, jewelry, dresses, Dupattas, and shawls embellished with traditional embroidery and cutwork were exhibited. According to Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Muhammad Dital Kalhoro, the event’s objective was to facilitate women artisans from rural Sindh with better incomes. “We have trained thousands of women from Upper Sindh,” he said.
