Petition filed in SHC to seek extension in judges’ tenure

A petition has been filed in Sindh High Court (SHC) on Monday which sought an extension in tenure of SHC judges for additional five years. The petition was filed by Sayed Mehmood Akhtar Naqvi and it made the federal government, secretary establishment, secretary law and other as respondents. The petitioner stated that it is expected to extend the tenure of the high court’s judges. It further stated that the appeal should be accepted to extend judges’ tenure up to five years. The petitioner said that the decision is necessary for the provision of timely justice and development in the judicial system.
