Tributes paid to Pashto ghazal maestro Khayal

PESHAWAR: Paying tribute to Pashto Ghazal maestro and presidential award winner, Khayal Muhammad, the Pak-Afghan Journalists Peace Forum (PAJPF) has announced to celebrate a peace week.

The announcement was made by a member of the forum and senior Pashto writer, Selaab Mehsud while addressing a news conference at press club on Thursday.

Flanked by renowned artist and Ghazal singer, Bakhtiar Khattak, Jamshed Ali Khan, and others, he said the forum will organize different events from Oct 24 to 30 to give honor to Pashto Ghazal maestro, Khayal Muhammad, in which journalists, poets, writers, and literary figures across the country and Afghanistan would be participated.

He said that the week-long festivity was aimed at giving a message of peace to rest of the world, besides, to further foster brotherhood and unity among people of Pakistan and Afghanistan.

Khattak explained that people from various parts of Khyber Pakthunkhwa and tribal areas, have supported them for organizing such an important event.

He, however, said that the forum would welcome any cooperation from provincial government side. He informed the opening ceremony of the festivity will be organized at Nishtar Hall Peshawar on Oct 24, wherein famous Pashto folk singers, artists, writers, and poets, will perform. On the second day, he further said a debate would be held in Peshawar Press Club, in which senior journalists, analysts, and experts on Afghan affairs will be addressed at the event. He said the participants will give proposals to remove the mistrust and prevailing among two neighboring countries, Pakistan and Afghanistan.
