SKMCH condemns false ‘accusations’ over trust assets

Author: Press Release

The management of Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital (SKMCH) and Research Centre condemns the baseless accusations regarding the investments of the Shaukat Khanum Memorial Trust (SKMT), said a press release issued on Thursday. It is regrettable that a globally acclaimed charitable institution is being unnecessarily targeted by some politicians for their political motives, the statement said.

“It is pertinent to mention here that all details regarding this matter have been previously shared in depth with the public. The investment was made by SKMT for its endowment fund on the recommendations of the Investment Committee”, it added.

According to the statement, this investment was clearly reflected in the audited accounts when it was made and now it is visible in the accounts when it has been returned completely.

These transactions were and are publicly viewable on website of the organistion, while the existence of this investment was transparent and not a secret revealed by some third party, it said. The management again appeals to all the politicians not to involve this credible organisation into any sort of politics and let it achieve its goal to serve the humanity, the statement added.
