CM once again keeps Kasur hospital staff on their toes

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif Saturday paid a surprise visit to Kasur District Headquarters Hospital without protocol.

He reviewed medical facilities, sanitary arrangements as well as inquired after the patients. Talking to hospital administration, the chief minister said that improvement in medical facilities and cleanliness arrangements did not mean that the target had been achieved. He said this process should be continued. Though cleanliness system had been improved to some extent but it was still not up to the standard, he said, adding that if a company cannot run cleanliness system properly this responsibility should be given to some other company, however, sanitary arrangements should not be affected during this period.

The chief minister expressed indignation over unavailability of soaps or hand wash lotions at washrooms He directed the hospital management to install hand dryer machines, besides ensuring provision of towels, soaps and hand wash lotions at the washrooms.

Shahbaz ordered suspension of EDO Health over improper facilities of parking, filthy conditions and said that government officers paying no attention to mitigate the suffering of humanity had no right to remain on their posts.

He said that working of the hospital could not be improved without introducing a system of reward and punishment. He; however, appreciated officers concerned for rehabilitation of TB ward, installation of six dialysis machines.

The chief minister expressed his displeasure over non-implementation of his orders regarding transfer of assistant medical superintendent.

Talking to doctors, nurses and paramedical staff, the chief minister said that they should look after the patients as if they were member of their families. He said provision of modern treatment facilities to patients was his mission and he would continue to pay visits to hospital until the system is improved.

Meanwhile, the chief minister has said that Land Record Management Information System is a revolutionary step of the Punjab government that has eliminated obsolete Patwar culture.

Presiding over a meeting via a video link on Saturday, he said people were now getting ownership deeds and other land documents without any bribe or delay.

Taking strict notice of giving additional charge to tehsildars and naib tehsildars, the chief minister expressed indignation and ordered immediate cancellation of the notification.

The chief minister said the Land Record Management Information System was a milestone in ridding the people of obsolete system and elimination of Patwar culture and corruption. He claimed that the Punjab government had completed this splendid project transparently and people of the province were benefiting from it.

The chief minister also directed authorities concerned to conduct a forensic analysis of the facilities being provided to the people under the Land Record Management Information System. Present at the meeting were Rana Sanaullah, Yawar Zaman, Ayesha Ghaus Pasha, chief secretary, Planning and Development chairman and others.
