Sir: Ever since the deadly attack on police training college in Quetta, which left at least 60 dead and many injured, nation is in a stateof trauma.
The peace which seemed to have prevailed, after the inception of National Action Plan (NAP), has been ruthlessly disturbed. The attack, according to government officials, seems to be carried out by a faction of TTP namely Lashkar-e-Jhangvi’s Al-Alimi faction, which operates from Afghanistan. To solve out such issues and establish peace, Islamabad must act. Complete implementation of NAP must be ensured as still some points of the NAP are either being partially implemented or are held in abeyance. For instance, NACTA has not been activated yet.
A well formulated foreign policy is what Pakistan desperately need along with a regular foreign minister to maintain the say of the country in world of foreign affairs and to deal with such terrorist threats and activities. But unfortunately, the seat of foreign minister is vacant since long. A country with an irregular and brittle foreign policy may not be able to maintain its writ in the foreign matters.
