LAHORE: The flashy and opulent Galleria Mall is known to host grand launch events where the décor complements the classy designer collections without a doubt.

Tuesday night was no different. Prêt and couture designer duo Saira Shakira unveiled their bridal collection ‘Zohra’ which they had showcased at the recent PFDC L’Oreal Bridal Week. Organised and arranged by the creative team behind Savvy PR & Events along with Amjad Bhatti, the event’s décor was lavish, festive and perfectly matching the theme of the collection, which was beauty and elegance.

We loved the dominant pastel hues used in the collection, the subtle look of the couture pieces as well as the every intricate designs Saira and Shakira brought forth. “I wouldn’t say it’s a new collection as we showcased it in September. However, Zohra now has the entire store to itself, where people can walk in and place orders,” Saira Faisal said, while talking exclusively to Daily Times.

We asked Shakira how the name Zohra came about. Was she a family member? An old flame? Someone they remembered fondly? “No, Zohra doesn’t exist in person. We simply thought the name sounds classic; elegant, sophisticated and very beautiful,” she said.

The delicious catering by Pink Pistachio at the event also deserves a special mention.

Zohra is not just pretty and pixie-like to look at; the designers, who are extremely stylish and stand out on every red carpet event themselves, ensure that it’s comfortable to wear and carry as well.

“Saira Shakira is a well-known label in the Pakistani fashion industry and their new collection Zohra is for every girl who is getting married. The colours are festive and the work is intricate. They are perfectionists and know how to transform their vision into couture. Asma T did a lovely job with the hair and make-up for the designers as well as the models. The yummy food by Pink Pistachio and those white florals transformed the store into a fairy tale,” Aamir Mazhar of Savvy PR said, also while talking exclusively to Daily Times.

Following the preview, Saira Shakira hosted an exhibition the next day which was open for the public.

The collection consists of a total number of 15 womenswear couture creations featuring intricate handwork and embroideries over contemporary cuts and muted pastel tones such as, ivory, jade, powder blush, etc. Fabrics such as tulle, chiffon and organza have been used to create luxe ensembles.
