Tough decisions made by PTI to address economic crisis: minister

Minister for Federal Education and Professional Training Shafqat Mahmood on Sunday said that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government had to take tough decisions to address the economic crisis of the country.

Talking to Radio Pakistan’s News and Current Affairs Channel, Shafqat Mahmood said the incumbent government was engaged in repairing the economic damages done by the former governments.

He said billions of rupees were laundered and stashed abroad during the past regimes, which rendered severe damages to economy of the country. Shafqat Mahmood appreciated the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) for holding powerful accountable.

Meanwhile, Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Ali Muhammad Khan said that the PTI government – through its hard work and dedication – had been successful in overcoming the challenges it inherited.

Speaking in a programme of News and Current Affairs Channel of Radio Pakistan on Sunday, he said that when the government came into power, there was a huge debt and national exchequer was empty.

He said the economic team of the government put their hard work to bring the economic situation to stability.

The state minister said engagement was increased with friendly countries at the international level to cope with the situation of February 26 and also to improve ties with the major powers. He said schemes like Insaf Health Cards, Ehsaas and housing projects were launched for public welfare during the last one year of the government.
