Drug abuse at peak in Quaid-i-Azam University

ISLAMABAD: Public display of drug abuse at Quaid-i-Azam University continues unabated in the capital.

The biggest government university has stayed without the four walls for over fifty years. There are certain hidden passages to enter the educational institute as unchecked. Out of the total five entry routes, only one is guarded and that too is just a formality. A road from Third Avenue also meets the university.

People come unchecked with illegal things from routes like Shahdara Road, Bari Imam and Margala Hills. Students concerned with their studies are deeply disappointed with this negligence.

The hopeless security guards complain about the university students and administration for the free flow of drugs. The sole check point of police before the university entrance also acts as a formality because most of the people enter unchecked. The caretakers of institute largely ignored when asked about the drugs abuse.

Hostel gates remain open and transportation is carried out during all 24 hours. Students’ guests coming from outside usually stay within the university throughout the day without being asked a single question.

The poison of filthy drugs is being injected into the students who vision studying in one of the country’s best institutes. Men in authority have kept to their habit of ignoring such sensitive issues in daily life. The rate of drug abuse in Pakistani universities is expected to rise if any suitable measure is not taken.
