LAHORE: Chairman Pakistan People’s Party Bilawal Bhutto met former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and inquired about his health as the ex premiere is suffering from cardiac ailments.
Bilawal Bhutto was accompanied by senior leaders of Pakistan People’s Party.
Addressing the media outside Kot Lakhpat jail the PPP chairman said that “the country can only progress with democracy,” adding that, the main focus of the meeting was inquiring Nawaz’s health.
Bilawal was accompanied by Qamar Zaman Kaira, Senator Mustafa Nawaz Khokar and political secretary Jameel Soomro, the PPP chairman’s stated objective for the visit is to inquire about Nawaz’s reportedly failing health.
Bilawal inquired about the former premier’s health during the meeting, the two leaders also discussed the current political situation in the country.
The PPP had sought permission for the the meeting on Saturday and the request was granted by the Punjab Home Department.
PPP leaders have stressed that the sole purpose of the visit is to find out about the former premier’s medical condition.
