Access to 350 villages disrupted after water overflows

Asses to 350 villages of Kachho belt was disrupted from taluka head quarter Johi in Dadu district on Friday after 22 feet water had flown into Nai Gaaj Nullah.

Kheer Thar Ranges Mountains are receiving rain since last three days. As a result, 22 feet high water has flown into Nai Gaaj Nullah which has caused disconnection of land communication of total 350 villages of four union councils Sawro, Chhini, Tando Rahim Khan and Wahi Pandhi.

Rain water has touched with FP Flood Protective embankment near Johi town on Friday and it started to develop pressure on embankments. Rain water is moving towards Manchhar lake and it is raising level of Manchhar lake. Rain water of mountains and Nai Gaaj nullah has started to raise the level of water at Manchhar lake.

Inhabitants of Kachho belt continued their complaints of shortages of clean water, essential food commodities and medicines as their land communication was cut off since last three days with taluka head quarter Johi.

Ashfaq Ahmed Memon, Special assistant to CM Sindh for irrigation department, started to look into the raising of water level into Nai Gaaj Nullah. He said that Manchhar Lake has risen from, 11.1 RL to 11.5 RL on Friday.

According to Moula Bux Mallah chairman Manchhar Bachayo Ittehad said that rain water will reduce the environmental pollution in Manchhar lake.
