Rain, snowfall to help meet water needs: PM

Author: News Desk

Prime Minister Imran Khan Saturday said the recent rains and snowfall are the blessings of Almighty Allah which will help crops in the rain-fed areas and also raise the water table.

“The rains & snowfall, we have received in Pakistan are truly a blessing from God. The rains have been most timely for our crops especially in the Barani crops. Also, the rainfall will raise the water table while the snow will melt into our rivers,” he posted on his Twitter account.

The country’s northern areas continue to experience heavy snowfall as some areas remain blanketed by two to three feet of snow. In Punjab, the plains areas are, however, shrouded in fog. The weather in Karachi has also turned cold after rainfall in different areas of the city earlier this week.
