Capital enjoys rainy weather with fried snacks

ISLAMABAD: The citizens are enjoying the rainy weather and using fried snacks especially Pakoras and samosas along with other traditional foods. According to a report aired by a private news channel, a large number of citizens are witnessed at various stalls of samosas and pakoras. “We ate pakoras in Ramazan but even then it is only a snack that you like when it rains”, said Naveed Malik a customer. A number of customers including office workers were seen at Pakora shops to enjoy the rainy weather. An owner of a cloth shop Yasir Ali said, “I enjoy every rain in the city with a plate full of Pakoras”. Saif Khan a shopkeeper said, “I am thankful to Allah Almighty for the rain as it has increased my daily sale. I have sold about 10 kilogramme Pakoras and six dozen samosas in no time.” “It’s real fun in winter to enjoy hot pakoras and samosas, especially when it is cloudy. We usually plan outdoor activity to enjoy the weather,” said a student Nadeem Abbas. Sadia a young student said, “I like this weather, especially in the winter. The rain bring back loads of good memories of my childhood.”

Tourists: The prolonged spell of snowfall halted on Wednesday in Murree but a number of tourists are still arriving in the city to enjoy the weather. According to a private news channel, People continue to enjoy the weather at Mall Road despite the temperature reaching to -4C. In Malika-e-Kohsar region and adjoining areas, about two feet snow has fallen, and more is expected in coming days.

Festival: The National Press Club is holding a Family and Media Festival on January 28 (Saturday) with an aim to entertain the citizens of the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi. An official of the NPC said that in this family festival there will be a number of activities which would attract the masses. He said a number of stalls including cultural music, media corner, youth corner, schools and colleges would beset up.
