Police catch five-member group of dacoits in Gujrat

GUJRAT: Police apprehended on Wednesday night a group of five suspected dacoits who are said to be involved in criminal activities throughout the province.

Amjad Qureshi, the superintendent of police (SP) for the investigation said at a press conference that all five members of the gang were arrested.

A number of illegal weapons, computers, motorcycles, mobile phones, and cash worth Rs100,000 were also recovered from them, Qureshi added.

The suspected dacoits were involved in and carried out criminal activities in various areas of Punjab, SP Qureshi further added.

Other than the cash mentioned before, 12 phones, four bikes, computers worth Rs1 million, a Kalashnikov, and five pistols were also recovered from the group, SP said.
