UFC 229 was not just exciting because it had Lightweight Champion Khabib Nurmagomedov and former 2-division champion Conor McGregor fighting for the title.

But there was much more to just that. Right after tapping McGregor, Khabib exchanged heated words with McGregor’s team-mate Dillon Danis that lead to a brawl.

In the rush of the moment, a defeated Conor McGregor could be seen attacked by Khabib’s team-mates. Initially, we all thought the same way, but footage from a different angle showed that it was actually McGregor who hit first.

Just as Khabib’s brother (it is not clear whether it was Abubakar Nurmagomedov or Islam Makhachev) climbed the change to follow Khabib, McGregor surrounded by security, threw a sucker punch, which made team Khabib retaliate.

This might also be the reason why McGregor has refused to take legal action against members of Khabib’s team. Earlier, 3 of Khabib’s teammates were arrested for attack on the Irish superstar but were later released.

Things have surely heated up in Las Vegas, and there is speculation that this rivalry might not be over yet.
