Three shops closed down as part of RDA’s operation against illegal constructions

Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) conducted operation against illegal/unauthorised land use and demolished an illegal under construction shop at Ansari Market and sealed two shops on Asghar Mall Road, Rawalpindi.

The RDA Land Use & Building Control (LUBC) wing’s staff carried out the operation.

The owners of the properties were constructing illegal commercial shops without approval or No Objection Certificates, in violation of Punjab Development of Cities Act 1976 and RDA Building & Zoning Regulations 2007.

RDA Spokesman Hafiz Muhammad Irfan said that RDA Director General Rana Akbar Hayat has directed the Building Control Wing to take strict action against illegal or unauthorised constructions and commercial activities without any fear and favour. Following directives of RDA director general, the Building Control Wing has been actively conducting continuous operations against illegal and unauthorised commercial cum residential construction activities including plazas, shops, schools and other illegal land use encroachments within the controlled area of RDA in Rawalpindi.
