Today is the final day of the Alif Ailaan campaign for education.
For over five years, I have had the privilege of working with an amazing group of young people, an array of great NGOs, the most inspiring politicians and government officials in the country, and a media and press that is the bravest and most passionate in the world.
This is just a quick note to say thank you for your support over the years. Alif Ailaan was nothing without you.
Alif Ailaan’s role was to change the conversation about education for the better. We began tracking coverage of education in the print media in 2013 and tracked it until June 2018. In 2013, there were an average of 133 newspaper stories every month. The average number of stories per month so far in 2018 has been 1,016. This represents a nearly eight time increase in coverage of education. Alhamdolillah, our key objective to make education a more meaningful part of the political discourse in Pakistan has been met.
Many thanks for fighting for Pakistan’s children with me and the Alif Ailaan campaign.
The campaign is over, but the fight must continue. Don’t ever stop believing in and arguing for a better tomorrow.
