Ronaldo should have copied Messi, says ex-Madridista

Former Real Madrid midfielder Rafael Van Der Vaart said Cristiano Ronaldo should have followed the example of Barcelona captain Lionel Messi and stayed at Real Madrid.

“You see, Messi… Messi would never leave Barcelona. To be honest, Ronaldo should have stayed at Madrid. He should have followed Messi,” a disappointed Van Der Vaart said.

Ronaldo decision to join Juventus this year came as a shock to football fans, especially after the Portuguese star won his third consecutive UEFA Champions League title with Madrid.

The Portuguese star has so far featured in two league fixtures with Juventus and has failed to make his mark in both of them.
