Messi ready to lead Barcelona to second straight win

Barcelona captain Lionel Messi is up and ready to build upon the winning start to his career as the leader as the club faces a tough Real Valladolid away from home later today.

Messi made a winning start to his official league campaign when he scored a brace against Deportivo Alaves to lead Barcelona to a 3-0 win.

The second league game of the season is a tricky one away from home against Valladolid, but the Argentina and his young team is up for the challenge.

The Blaugranas won the Spanish league last season comprehensively with just a single defeat and are now looking to defend their title against a Ronaldo-less Real Madrid and an ever-evolving Atletico Madrid.
