Imran, Bilawal, Shehbaz declare election expenses

The candidates who took part in the recently held general election have started submitting details of the amount spent on their election campaigns as per rules set by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), a private TV channel reported on Saturday.

According to a document submitted by Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan, who contested from NA-131 (Lahore-IX), the expected prime minister spent Rs 997,925 on his campaign.

PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif, who contested from NA-132 (Lahore-X), spent a total of Rs 1,934,447, according to details submitted by him to the ECP. Sharif spent Rs 600,000 on fuel while Rs 1.1 million were spent on campaign ads. PTI’s Aleem Khan, who lost from NA-129 (Lahore-VII), spent a total of Rs 3,984,500 during his campaign, according to the records of his expenses submitted to the ECP.

Meanwhile, expenses incurred by PML-N’s Hamza Shahbaz – who was successful from NA-124 (Lahore-II) – during his campaign amounted to Rs 1,850,625.PML-N’s Waheed Alam, who emerged victorious from NA-125 (Lahore-III), spent Rs1,955,095 on his campaign.Rohail Asghar, PML-N’s MNA-elect from NA-128 (Lahore-VI), spent a total of Rs1,651,334 on his election campaign.

PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto filed his expenditure details with the returning officer concerned. According to the documents, Bilawal spent an amount of Rs3,336,106 on his election campaign in NA-200. PPP’s MNA-elect from NA-201 Khurshid Ahmed Junejo spent a total of Rs 2,496,000. PPP MPA-elect from PS-10 Faryal Talpur spent an amount of Rs 1,826,000. GDA’s MPA-elect from PS-11 Moazim Ali Abbasi declared expenses of Rs 990,530 on account of his election campaign. PPP’s MPA-elect from PS-12 Suhail Anwar Siyal filed return of Rs 1,889,608 and PPP’s MPA-elect from PS-13 Hizbullah Bughio spent a total of Rs 725,000.
