Villager shot dead by assailants

KANDHKOT: A villager was shot dead on Thursday by bike-borne assailants on Rahmatpur road near Kandhkot town. Reportedly, Imam Bakhsh Suhiryani was on his way to Kandhkot town when a few unknown armed men opened fire on him and managed to flee from the scene. Resultantly, he died on the spot while the area police shifted his body to the Kandhkot Hospital for autopsy. Meanwhile, police started investigation into the incident.

Man crushed to death by train

A 35-year-old man was crushed to death by a Bolan Mail Express train on Thursday near Mando level crossing in Shikarpur.

Reportedly, Majid Shah, a resident of Haji Latif Shah Mohalla, stepped in the Karachi-bound train from Shikarpur. He slipped from the train when he tried to jump from one bogie to another, and crushed to death on the spot by the wheels of the train. Meanwhile, the officers of the New Faujdari police station rushed to the spot and shifted his body to the Civil Hospital in Shikarpur. After medico-legal formalities, his body was handed over to his heirs.

Brother shoots sister for being late in preparing his meal in Shikarpur

A woman was shot by her brother for not preparing his meal in time on Thursday in Munamabad village, situated at riverine area near Madeji town in Shikarpur. According to the Jamalpur police station, the accused Abdul Sattar Junejo opened fire on his sister Koonj Junejo for being late to cook his meal and fled from the spot.

Consequently, she was rushed to the Taluka Hospital Madeji, where doctors recommended shifting her to the Larkana Hospital due to her precarious condition after administering first aid. Meanwhile, the police have started investigation into the incident. Many deadly incidents over trivial issues have been occurring in Sindh due to illiteracy and lawlessness. The provincial government needs to formulate concrete policies to implement the law in its true spirit and essence and establish educational institutes, particularly in the rural region, to reduce illiteracy and raise awareness amongst the masses.
