Afghanistan has become hub of anti-Pakistan elements: IG

MARDAN: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Nasir Durrani said on Monday that Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP) is more affected in the war of terror and also gave great sacrifices but despite of it the masses of the province did not protest that only this province will fight against the terrorists.

“Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) KP arrested more than 1142 high profile terrorist across the province”, the IGP said while addressing a meeting of elected representatives, DRC members and other elders of the district at Police Line Mardan and later on talking to the media.

District Nazim Himayatullah Mayar, Regional Police Officer (RPO) Mohammad Ijaz Khan, Commissioner Zakir Hussain Afridi, Deputy Commissioner Imran Hamid Sheikh, district police officer (DPO) Mardan Mian Saeed Ahmed, Superintendent of police (SP) investigation Shafiullah Khan Gandapur, Superintendent police (SP)-operation Abdul Rauf Babar Chairman DRC Haji Ihsanullah Bacha, PTI lawmaker Tofual Anjum and other high ranking civil and police officers were also present at this occasion.

The inspector general of police (IGP) said that there are a lot of problems in controlling militancy in the province including long border and Tribal’s areas. He added that external elements did not tolerate China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and to destroy this game changer project Afghanistan is become a hub of all the agencies of the world.

He added that the agencies of some countries want to spread terrorism and chaos in the country to damage this great project. “Our agencies and security forces and other forces accept this challenge and struggle to fail this conspiracy against CPEC and country”, he added.

He added that after the military operation in tribal areas the militants escaped to Afghanistan and settled areas of the country. Nasir Khan Durrani added that in this connection counter terrorism department (CTD) Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa has arrested 1142 high profile terrorists from different parts of the province. He added that without the support of masses we cannot control militancy in the province. “Militants cannot live on sky they are living on earth in the houses so the masses should give information to the concern institutions”, he added.

Nasir Khan Durrani said that tribal people are the more victims and government should give attention toward tribal people. “Government should also immediately solve the issue of tribal areas”, he added.

Nasir Khan Durrani added that police foiled the terror bid at local court at Tangi in district Charsadda if the terrorists entered the courts a very dangerous incident will be occurred but the brave police fight with terrorist and did not allow them to enter the courts premises.

He added that internationally the efforts of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa police to controlling militancy are appreciated. He added that it is need of time that we should support and give honor to police so that they more bravely perform their duties and protect the masses. He added that it also need of time that we should restored the old identity of our province.” More than three year service of his career in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province is very brilliant service period”, he added.

Nasir Khan Durrani added that he try his best to bring change in the police culture of the province during his three years period.
