DADU: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and former chief minister of Sindh Liaquat Ali Jatoi on Thursday submitted his nomination forms to contest election from NA-234 constituency of KN Shah Mehar while Karim Ali Jatoi filed nomination forms for NA-235 constituency of Dadu-Johi.

Reportedly, Jatoi affirmed to defeat PPP in Dadu district and claimed that Dadu has become a fort of PTI.

“Caretaker government holds the responsibility to ensure free, fair and transparent elections, and if it is found guilty of involvement in election rigging, PTI reserves the right to deal with it accordingly,” he remarked. He claimed that PTI chairman Imran Khan will finalise the party decision regarding its stance towards GDA.

“PPP gained sympathy votes during general elections in 2008 when Benazir Bhutto was assassinated, but now the situation is quite different,” he added. He claimed that in general elections 2013, he secured 18,000 votes while PPP candidate gained 10,000 votes in Dadu city, but the results were altered for PPP candidate’s victory. He further asserted that his son Karim Ali Jatoi secured 57,000 votes in NA-235 constituency.

“Polling staff took Rs 5 billion from PPP candidates to rig the elections in PPP’s favour,” he said while adding that ‘fake’ votes were recovered and FIR was lodged against the election riggers, but the case could not proceed due to political pressure.

Meanwhile, PPP candidate Rafique Ahmed Jamali submitted his nomination documents to contest election from NA-235 constituency.

Moreover, PPP candidates including Pir Mujeeb Ul Haq and Pir Mazhar ul Haq, and Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) candidate Syed Fida Hussain Kazmi submitted nomination papers to contest from PS-85. Furthermore, PPP candidate Fyaz Ahmed Butt and PTI candidate Sadaqat Ali Jatoi submitted nominations forms to contest from PS- 84 Mehar, and PTI candidate Ihsan Jatoi and PPP candidate Aziz Junejo submitted nomination papers to contest from PS- 83 KN Shah.
