YDA protests against new rules for PGMIs

PESHAWAR: Young Doctors Association (YDA) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will protest today (Thursday) at Lady Reading Hospital Peshawar against the new rules and regulation of Post Graduate Medical Institutions (PGMI).

YDA will also demand the provincial government to provide residential facility to the doctors as the recent incident of Dr Murtaza who was died at the hostel was not cardiac attack but he was died of gas leakage. YDA president Dr Gulab Afridi said that despite the Peshawar High Court directives in favor of PGMI but the provincial government was violate the direction of the court and was change the rules and regulation of the institution, adding that the provincial government was depriving doctor’s community. He further said that Law department has already reservation on its twenty points of PGMI new rules and regulation, adding that the new Chairman Board of Governor of Lady Reading Hospital Peshawar wants to implement it.

He added that the government had announced to established PGMI institute in every teaching hospital, adding that the no one institution was registered under the Pakistan Medical Institute.
