Price of chicken in Peshawar escalates beyond reach of common man

Author: Online

PESHAWAR: The rate of chicken in Peshawar has soared to Rs 188 per kilogramme, with an increase of Rs 17 per kg in a week.

With this upsurge in prices, the chicken has gone out of the reach of the common man. The new rate of chicken has been fixed by the government.

According to the district administration, chicken in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is supplied from Punjab, thus, the increase of prices for chicken in Punjab directly affects rates in Peshawar’s market.

Meanwhile, ranikhet disease has caused the death of hundreds of chickens in Punjab that is why the poultry farm owners are hesitating to purchase new chicks.
