ISLAMABAD: Superintendent Police (SP) CIA Zubair Ahmad Sheikh on Saturday announced arrest of a suspect in Careem captain murder case.

A 26-years-old Careem captain Junaid Mustafa was murdered by unidentified assailants on Thursday, moments after dropping off a customer in G-13. The assailants also stole his car and other belongings.

Police sources said that the accused, identified as Ataullah, allegedly tried to snatch Mustafa’s car and shot him after the Careem captain resisted. The authorities have also claimed to recover Mustafa’s car from the accused’s custody.

SP Zubair said in a press conference that the accused has confessed to committing two robberies in the area. Ataullah, however, was seen pleading before the attendants that he is innocent of any wrongdoing.
