Sir: Asma Jahangir spent her whole life fighting justice and the people with no voice. She took on dictators and maulvis in the darkest days and remained resilient. Asma was a symbol of pro-democracy struggle and a relentless fight against obscurantism.
The world has paid rich tribute to the deceased comrade. As a democratic country — though it’s a fragile democracy — Pakistan should announce three day mourning and a hold a state funeral for Asma Jahangir. This is the least we can do to recognise her services.
It is time that we all hold our hands and do our best to live her legacy and practice what she did.
