Labourer killed, another injured working on OLMT

LAHORE: A labourer working on Orange Line Metro Train (OLMT) died after receiving electric shock while another was severely injured on Saturday.

Rescue sources said that the labourers working on OLMT in Gulshan Ravi Lahore were carrying a steel poll which touched high voltage power line passing overhead.

One labourer identified as Bilal died, while another Riaz was severely injured.

The dead and injured labourer were taken to a hospital. Earlier in 2016, the Lahore Development Authority had informed the Lahore High Court that 13 people had lost their lives in accidents related to the Orange Line Metro Train project.

In a report submitted in the court, the LDA had four of the 13 deaths had occurred at the construction site.
