Nizam-ud-Din Sialvi, Moulana Rehmat Ali and Mohammad Khan Baloch had announced to resign from their posts during the recent Khatm-e-Nabuwwat conference in Faisalabad. Pir Hameed Sialvi’s representative Mohammad Nawaz submitted the resignations in the secretariat. Nizam-ud-Din Sialvi was PML-N MPA from Sargodha while Moulana Rehmat Ali and Mohammad Khan Baloch were elected from Jhang.
On Monday, speaker of the Punjab Assembly Rana Iqbal said that he had not received any resignations or information from any of the members regarding their resignations. He had said unless members of the Punjab Assembly submit and verify their resignations before him in person, those could not be entertained. He had said that resignations that are submitted voluntarily are forwarded to the Election Commission of Pakistan following their acceptance by the speaker for further proceedings.
Spiritual leaders from Sundar Sharif, Sultan Bahu’s shrine, Pakpattan, Bharchondi Sharif and Taunsa Sharif, Asif Ashraf Jalali, former chief minister Dost Muhammad Khosa, Punjab Sunni Tehreek President Shadab Raza Naqshbandi, Tehreek Labbaik Pakistan leader (TLY) Allama Farooqul Hasan Qadri and leaders of Markazi Jamaat Ahle Sunnat and National Mashaikh Council have also demanded Sanaullah’s resignation.
