Pound Sterling stood firm in value versus rupee and closed at Rs 141.77 for buying and closed at Rs 141.97 for selling after gaining 64 paisas. Euro also ended on firm note versus rupee to close at Rs 124.62 for buying and at Rs 124.82 for selling in interbank trading. It gained 14 paisas. In kerb market, greenback edged higher in value by Re 1 versus rupee to close at Rs 108.40 for buying and at Rs 108.60 for selling. Pound closed firm in value and closed at Rs 144.05 for buying and at Rs 144.25 for selling. It gained 05 paisas. Euro also remained firm by 25 paisas and closed at Rs 126.25 for buying and at Rs 126.45 for selling versus rupee. Treasurers and currency dealers said that major currencies closure on dull note was of insignificant demand by importers and corporate sector.
