LAHORE: Pakistan Ulema Council Chairman Hafiz Muhammad Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi said that the entire Muslim world has to start an economic and diplomatic boycott of United States. While denouncing decision of US President Donald Trump to acknowledge Jerusalem as capital of Israel, Hafiz Tahir Ashrafi announced to observe Friday (December 8) as ‘labbaik ya Aqsa day’.

Addressing a press conference on Thursday at the Lahore Press Club, Hafiz Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi also announced to organise an all parties’ conference during the next week in Islamabad.

US President Donald Trump has made a draconian move by acknowledging Jerusalem as capital of Israel to disrupt world peace, said Hafiz Tahir Ashrafi. Rallies and protest demonstrations will be staged to condemn decision of US administration to express solidarity with the cause of Al-Aqsa mosque, he said.

Freedom and protection of Al-Aqsa mosque is as holy and mandatory for Muslim Ummah as the sanctity and honour of Al-Haramain Al-Sharifain, said Tahir Ashrafi, adding that the US leadership had put on stake peace and stability of entire world through its reckless decision. The entire Muslim Ummah rejected the decision of Donald Trump for acknowledging Jerusalem as capital of Israel and in protest to condemn this decision, leadership of Muslim Ummah have to start an economic and diplomatic boycott of America, said Tahir Ashrafi.
