KHYBER AGENCY: A bid to smuggle a huge cache of narcotics from Afghanistan to Pakistan was foiled by the Khasadar Force when they recovered 231kg hashish and 13kg heroin from a truck at Torkham border, on Wednesday.
Torkham Political Tehsildar Shamsul Islam said the Khasadar troops stopped a trailer returning from Kabul for snap checking. During the search, 231kg hashish and 13kg heroin were recovered from the truck, hidden in tyres of the vehicle.
One smuggler, identified as Saidal Jan, resident of Jalalabad, Afghanistan, was arrested and put in Landi Kotal lockup for further interrogation, the official said.
