Momina’s Mixed Plate Season 3, powered by Insignia Shoes, hosted a diverse range of guests to share their personal journeys and experiences, providing a window into their unique perspectives. Usman Riaz: Director and co-founder of Mano Animations Studio, who shared his incredible story of starting an animation studio in Pakistan, from attending conferences in Japan to tackling the challenges of bringing his ideas to life. Feeha Jamshed: She spoke about her illness and how she overcame it with hope and faith.
She reminded the audience that, even in the midst of tragedy, it’s important to accept the hurdles and move forward, “Always accept the struggles coming your way, a lot of people will say, this too shall pass, it does pass, but you should be honest in what you’re going through”, she stated. Her story served as a powerful lesson on resilience.
Parisheh James: Someone who also didn’t shy away from speaking the hard truths, who opened up about her experience with an eating disorder and how she overcame it. She emphasised that looking a certain way should never mean sacrificing one’s health, “It was very difficult, it was lonely, I felt like to look a certain way I had to not eat, which was not the case at all and that’s what I learnt over the years”
Alishay Adnan: A refreshing face to see this season, discussing her journey of being one of the first fashion stylists in Pakistan and the challenges she faced in introducing the concept in the industry and the transition of its acceptance by brands, “The idea of a fashion stylist was very confused in the industry”, she stated. She also spoke about how women’s success is often measured by their marital status, rather than their career accomplishments, “In our society, a woman’s measure of success is actually marriage.”
Mansha Pasha: Shared her experience with divorce and the mentality surrounding marriage and relationships in our society. She emphasised the importance of friendship with one’s partner, stating that it is the key to a successful relationship.
Mathira: who is often known for her bold persona, revealed a different side of herself on a very special episode as she spoke about her painful past and struggles with alcoholism and her road to sobriety, “I went into alcoholism to knock myself out, I feel it’s okay if you’re drinking but it’s much better if you leave it”, “You’re fighting your own war, it doesn’t matter what the world says cause you yourself are going through something so major within”, She urged the audience to fight their own battles.
