LHC orders Education Dept to float proposal for two-week winter vacations

The Lahore High Court has ordered the Education Department to propose two-week winter vacations in order to assess the city’s smog levels.

On Monday, after hearing the smog case, Justice Shahid Karim of the LHC ordered Pemra to run advertisements during prime time on electronic media to raise awareness of the smog.

The LHC judge also mandated actions for setting up camera surveillance at factories that emit pollution.
