ISLAMABAD – Minister for Finance and Economic Affairs Senator Ishaq Dar here on Sunday directed the Economic Affairs Division for expediting work on its China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) related projects.
The minister chaired a meeting to review the important economic projects under the aegis of the division. Economic Affairs Secretary Saleem Sethi gave a detail update about financing arrangements of rehabilitation of temporarily displaced people (TDPs), said a statement.
The minister on this occasion referred to recent agreement signed with China on award of special grant of $10 million, supporting Pakistan government in rehabilitation of resident in FATA and promoting social development in the area. He also emphasized proper utilization of these funds.
Senator Dar said that the government was deeply focused on resettlement of the displaced people. He said that all possible efforts needed to be made in this regard. The minister also sought details about projects and programmes that the Economic Affairs Division envisaged to be implemented in FATA with the assistance of Chinese government.
The Finance Division’s additional secretary and other senior officials of the Ministry of Finance and the Economic Affairs Division attended the meeting.
