MPs demand treason case against Altaf

LAHORE –Aresolution was moved by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) lawmakers in the Punjab Assembly against a provocative speech made by AltafHussain, London-based chief of the MuttahidaQaumi Movement (MQM).

Seekingregistration of a treason case against AltafHussain,the resolution was tabled by Opposition Leader MianMehmoodur Rashid.The motion demanded AltafHussain be arrested and brought back to Pakistan with the help of Interpol as he repeatedly targets Pakistan’s armed forces and other institutions.

Addressing his party convention in the US city of Dallas via telephone on Sunday,Altaf asked his party workers to stage protests in front of UN, White House and NATO and raise a demand for sending their troops to Karachi.Altaf said India – ifit had some ‘honour’– would not have allowed ‘bloodshed’ of ‘Mohajirs’ on Pakistani soil. He also directed his workers to write letters to US newspapers.
