Tribesmen take out pro-FATA reforms rally

KHYBER AGENCY: The tribesmen of Khyber Agency held a protest demonstration at Bab-e-Khyber against what they said were extra-parliamentary remarks against the Member National Assembly from NA-45, Shahjee Gul Afridi and in favour of FATA reforms on Tuesday.

It is to be mentioned here that on repeatedly creating disturbance during the assembly session, the Speaker of the Assembly warned MNA Shahjee Gul to remain silent or he would be thrown out of the assembly by the security guards.

Hundreds of local tribal while holding placards and banners inscribed with slogans of their favors and were chanting slogans against the speaker of the assembly, Ayaz Sadiq.

The protesters marched from Jamrud Press Club to Bab-e-Khyber where the rally culminated into a public gathering.

Speaking on the occasion the protest leaders including Qari Said Alam Shinwari, Malik Nadeem, Malik Naseer, engineer Jahangir and Taj Mahal advocate condemned the speaker of the National Assembly for his misbehavior towards tribal Member Parliament, Shajee Gul in the assembly session’s last day.

They asked the Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq to apologise to the MNA and the tribesmen as he had hurt their feelings.

The protesters also criticized the delaying tactics of the government in implementation of FATA reforms and urged the rulers to avoid their indecisive attitude towards the tribesmen and immediately announce the reforms and merging of the tribal belt into the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
