Al Qaeda chief of South Punjab, Balochistan, killed in Chaghai

QUETTA/NASEERABAD: Balochistan Home Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti on Sunday said law enforcers killed an al Qaeda terrorist and arrested his wife in Chaghai.

Addressing a news conference, Bugti said Balochistan and Southern Punjab Al Qaeda chief Omar Abdul Latif alias Luqman has been killed in the operation. Security forces also arrested Luqman’s wife, identified as Tayyaba alias Fareeha Baji, near Pakistan-Afghan border, he said.

The home minister said the terrorist was planning to establish Al Qaeda Sub-Continent Centre in Balochistan.

Meanwhile, a top terrorist of a banned outfit was arrested in Quetta while Frontier Corps (FC) arrested as many as three terrorists from Gandhaka area of Naseerabad.
