ISLAMABAD: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chambers of commerce, Harripur, Gilgit-Baltistan and Dera Ismael Khan Chambers along with the trade associations, have joined United Business Group (UBG) and announced to support Iftikhar Ali Malik in the annual elections of Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industries (FPCCI).
Representatives of these chambers, associations along with Pakistan Gemstones and Mineral Association and All Pakistan Vanaspati Manufacturers Association, held meeting with United Business Group Chairman Iftikhar Ali Malik and announced their un-conditional support in the elections of FPCCI.
Harripur Chamber President Atif Ikram Sheikh, Dera Ismael Khan Chamber President Zafar Jaleel Khan Mastikhel, Giligit-Baltistan Chamber President Javed Hussain, Pakistan Gemstone and Mineral Association Chairman Muhammad Ali Zreen and APVMA chairman showed their confidence in the leadership of Iftikhar Ali malik.
They were of the view that United Business Group under the leadership of Iftikhar Ali Malik and SM Muneer will revive the dignity of FPCCI and would make it a truly trade representative body. They said that FPCCI is the apex trade body of Pakistan, but during the last years it has not played its due role. It has failed to represent Pakistan at the international forum and has not made any efforts to promote regional trade with the neighbouring countries.
They demanded that FPCCI should play its role in the promotion of trade activities in and outside the country and must solve the issues of business community. They also highlighted the corruption, dictatorship and one family rule in the FPCCI for the last 20 years. Talking to the trade representatives of KPK and GB, United Business Group Chairman Iftikhar Ali Malik said that he did not believe in one-man-show and dictatorship in the FPCCI and UBG had been created to end kingship in the FPCCI.
