Passing out parade of FC recruits held

KHYBER AGENCY: The 24th passing out parade of 365 recruits of the Frontier Constabulary (FC) was held at FC ground inside the premises of the FC cantonment, Tehsil Landikotal on Tuesday.

Beside Brigadier Qazi Waseemuddin,Commander of 23 Brigade as chief guest, Commandant FC, Col. Umar Farooq Assistant Political Agents (APAs), Landi Kotal and Jamrud Niaz Muhammad and Zia-ur-Rehman Marwat, forces officials, Tehsidars of tehsils Jamrud and Landi Kotal, tribal elders and a large number of friends and family members of the passing out cadets were among the participants.

The chief guest examined the parade and administered the oath to the new recruits.

Addressing the gathering on the occasion the chief guest said that after being a part of the well-decorated FC unit, the new recruits would eventually deal with war against terrorism and it was necessary for the troops to have knowledge of the ideological foundations of the war. It was actually the combat of principle and depravity and the force would not let a handful miscreants to execute their maldesigns in the name of Islam, he explained.

He urged the new recruits to safeguard the tribal blood and honor at the cost of their lives. Paying rich tribute to the FC, Brig. Qazi Waseemuddin said that the troops had exhibited extraordinary bravery in the Pak-India war of 1965 and the wars against terrorism i.e. Zerb-e-Azab, Darghlum, Bia Darghlum, Rahi Nijat, Rahi Rast and other force operations had given unmatched sacrifices for the sake of their motherland.

With the assistance of the tribesmen, the force is fully competent to defend themselves of any aggression, he remarked.

He congratulated the new cadets to be a part of FC and stressed upon them to execute their duties with honesty and dedication. He also praised the trainers who trained the new cadets in best way to serve in the FC.

Prizes were also awarded to the shining cadets. Ihsanullah Aurkzai was granted best cadet prize while Alpha Company received the champion’s trophy.

At the end the new passing recruits presented a salute to the chief guest while passing in front of the dais.
